Barış Çakmak

I am a physicist with research interests in the fields of quantum thermodynamics, quantum information theory, open quantum systems and quantum control. I work at Farmingdale State College - State University of New York, New York, USA.

NEWS

  • I have been selected as a KITP Scholar for 2024-26 at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics.

  • Together with Marcus Bonança and Gentaro Watanabe, we are organizing a focus issue on Thermodynamic Control in Journal of Physics Communications. We are accepting contributions from fields such as (although not limited to):

    • shortcuts to adiabaticity

    • thermodynamics of (quantum) information processing

    • quantum speed limits

    • feedback control

    • quantum/stochastic thermal machines

    • thermodynamic uncertainty relations

    • thermodynamic geometry

    • free energy estimation

    • active matter

    • biological machines
